LMS Festival Day 2011

Festival Day is a traditional event that culminates Jemicy’s annual Fall Unit.

This year, because National Parks was the Fall Unit topic, Jemicy Lower and Middle School students prepared to camp out overnight on the grounds of the school. Uncooperative weather required all activities to move indoors, where tents were erected in classrooms; the Reptile Man visited with turtles, lizards, crocodiles, alligators, and snakes; Indian dancers and drummers entertained; and students engaged in a variety of activities, including a night hike, pumpkin carving, storytelling, crafts and more. Parent volunteers cooked out burgers, hotdogs, and of course, S’mores before the students crawled into their sleeping bags for the night!
